A delicious, easy recipe that beats the heck out of the shop bought humous. Now, this is so easy, it will take you longer to get your shoes on and go to the shop for the processed stuff! It’s full of goodness and anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory turmeric – the wonder spice!
Ingredients
1 x 15 oz can of chickpeas – drained
Juice of 1 lemon
2 x fat cloves of garlic (add more but remember the garlic gets stronger over time!)
3 x tbsp tahini paste
1 x tbsp turmeric
Pinch of smoked paprika
1 x tsp sea salt – adjust to taste
A good grind of pepper
2-3 tbsps olive oil
Method
All of the ingredients get put into a blender and blitzed until fully mixes. At this point, adjust your seasonings, salt, paprika etc to your taste. Blitz again.
If you want to make the humous smoother- add a little more olive oil and a little water.
It’s ready to eat! serve with pitta bread, carrot sticks, spread on toast or with salad.
