Mango, Turmeric, and Ginger Smoothie

Sitting at work last week I wanted something to boost my immunity but wanted to use up what I already had at home. I drink a lot of water but sometimes fancy a change. I threw what I had at home in the nutri-bullet and this was the result! It was cold and delicious and surprisingly filling. You can, of course, adapt to whatever fruit you have. I used frozen fruit as it’s easy to store and you can use only as much as you need.

Ingredients
1 x generous cup of frozen mango cubes
2-3cm fresh ginger – chopped into small pieces
1 x tbsp ground turmeric (or fresh if you prefer)
1/2 banana (optional)
2-cups of cold oat milk (or dairy-free milk of your choice)
1-2 tsp chia seeds
1-2 tsp agave nectar or honey

Method
Scrape the skin of the ginger and chop into small chunks. Add everything to the nutri-bullet or blender, mango chunks first. Blitz for about a minute and then check if it’s to your taste – if it is sweet enough, it has enough taste of ginger or turmeric. Add more milk if it is too thick. Then pour over ice, pull up a chair and drink in some healthy gut boosting goodness. This smoothie is high in fibre and protein – enjoy!
